Good Vietnamese Food at Affordable Prices in Ho Chi Minh
#1 Ben Nghe Street Food

This place has a wide variety of food and drinks. It is a great place to sample all the different Vietnamese food. Besides, for those who might want to eat other cuisines such as Western, Chinese, Indian, Thai etc., there are plenty to choose from. There are ample seats as well. As a group everyone was happy caused, they had more choices to choose from. The most important was that the place was clean and well-lighted.
#2 Saigon Pho 39
Located in District 1
Car Park Location: Cars are allowed to park directly in front of the shop which is along the road. (The staff mentioned only if the car attendant was present do we need to pay for the car parking fees)
This place had air-conditioned and spacious seating. The shop was clean and especially the toilets. Toilets were crucial for our trips, as we had elderlies travelling with us. The staffs could converse in English.
Beef Soup Break ( 130,000 VND )
The soup contains scrumptious pieces of braised beef, beef tendon, potatoes, carrot and onions. My kids enjoyed the beef as it was so tender. The hot beef broth was thick and flavorful. The dish was enhanced with the dipping of the crispy warm bread.
Beef Banh Mi ( 55,000 VND ) and Fresh Spring Rolls ( 80,000 VND )
The fresh spring roll was so appetizing and refreshing. It was filled with steamed prawn, fresh herbs, lettuce and vermicelli.
#3 Taste of Saigon @ Vinhomes Tân Cảng
Located at Binh Thanh District

[Vinhomes Central Park -Park 7 Basement Parking] Note: As non-residents, to exit the basement car park, we were directed to walk up the car ramp to exit the car park. It was common here as the local did the same for those visiting the park.
Bún Thịt Bò Xào Chả Giò ( 80,000 VND )
We highly recommend having a meal in this shop as the foods were fresh and absolutely tasty. This Vietnamese dish was one of our favourites. It was so refreshing and delightful. Throughout our trip we order the similar dish more than 4 times in different shops in HCMC. We found this particular dish in Taste of Saigon the best for us, as the sauce, the hot grilled beef and the fresh salads matched perfectly on our taste.
Soursop Smoothie ( 65,000 VND )
The soursop smoothie was very delicious, fresh and not too sweet.
Cơm Tấm Sườn ( 65,000 VND )
The Pork Chop was juicy and it literally melted in the mouth. The rice was also very fragrant. My kids really enjoyed this dish.
#4 Rakuen BBQ

(We parked along the street of Rakuen BBQ, there will be a car park attendant asking for a minimal fee)
For those craving for an affordable and delicious buffet BBQ, we recommend trying Rakuen BBQ as it only cost 189,000 VND per person for the most basic set. Children between 100-120cm is half price while those below 100cm is free of charge. The food offered in the most basic set can be seen in the pictures below.
#5 Ben Nay Restaurant
Located only 11 minutes from Ben Dinh War Tunnels (Cu Chi Tunnels)
Car Park Location: They provide free parking at the restaurant.
This restaurant was one of the main tourists stop for those heading to Ben Dinh War Tunnels or Cu Chi Tunnels. As it was far out from the main city area, there were very limited food near Ben Dinh War Tunnels. Hence, most tourist stop here for lunch. The food here were not great, however it was just to fill our tummy before heading to Ben Dinh War Tunnel.
